Best Workout Gear for Traveling

By Clare

Here at Destination Rogue, we like to keep things efficient. That means small carry-on luggage, multi-tasking beauty products, and travel-friendly whole body workout gear. We know you have better things to do with your precious time traveling than hitting up the gym, so we created the ultimate list of exercise equipment for when you’re on the road. And yes, it’s a short list because, contrary to what fitness magazines and gyms might tell you, you don’t need a lot of stuff to keep in shape. In this case, you don’t even need shoes.

1. Fit Simplify Resistance Bands

These resistance bands are my all time favorite piece of workout equipment, period. It just so happens they are also extremely packable and you can use them anywhere. You can use them in the hotel in the middle of the night when you can’t sleep because they don’t require making any sound (unlike jump ropes). You can use them on a plane because you don’t need a lot of space. And the best part? There are hundreds of different ways to use resistance bands, so you’ll never get bored.

2. Survival and Cross Jump Rope

Jumping rope is an intense cardio workout. Varying your speed and increasing your duration can do a serious number on all those vacation calories you’ve been eating (and drinking. This jump rope in particular is great because of how light-weight and compact it is- you can fit it in your pocket if you want! You’ll need some space for this and the wire-like rope might take some getting used to, but you’ll love it after 10 minutes of serious burn.

3. Yoga Mat or Towel

I try to do yoga as often as I can while traveling- collecting classes is kind of my go-to souvenir. If I have enough space in my bag, I’ll bring a travel yoga mat, if not, I’ll just bring a towel to throw over the studio’s communal mats.

    • The Jade Travel Yoga Mat has that amazing Jade grip and is light-weight, but it takes up quite a bit of space.

    • The Jade Voyager Mat is super thin and can be folded into about the size of a yoga block.

  • The most space-efficient yoga accessory is a towel like this Yoga Mate Perfect Towel. They’re easy wash and can fit into any bag.

4. A killer bathing suit

The best piece of workout equipment, isn’t a piece of equipment. It’s an amazing swim suit. You’ll want to spend all day in any of these suits, which means you’ll be outdoors and swimming all day, which means you’ll stay in shape. Pretty much.
